Here's a sample report. Hopefully that worked? Basically, I want to just show %CT UnitCost for JUST the last "Total" column, not by each month. I do want to see the UnitCost for each month, but not %CT UnitCost.

Finally! Now I can confirm whether the latest version of Analyze in Excel has been installed!!

Hard to understand why Microsoft's documentation isn't clear on this.

I suggest using bookmarks instead of slicers.

You can use different calendars on different pages.

Hi @v-abhinavmu. I have already tried the approach of checking the product version of the msolap.dll file. The result is a completely different version # than what is embedded in the msi installer file name ("x64_18.0.29.0_SQL_AS_OLEDB.msi").

I also checked the registry key for Microsoft SQL Server. It shows a version # that is close to but still different that the msi installer version.

I agree that we need to remove the reference layer to enable interactivity. Both options 1 and 2 look like solid solutions, so I’ll give them a try. Thanks for the advice!

I’m not completely sure, but the issue looks like your measure is ignoring the filter context, using MAX like that will just return a fixed value instead of reacting to slicers. You could try wrapping it with something like CALCULATE but keeping filters, or switch to SUM if the entitlement should aggregate, also check if there’s any relationship missing between your entitlement table and the care settings, that’s a common cause. Another thing to test is using ALL or REMOVEFILTERS carefully, sometimes they lock the value without you noticing.

I’m not completely sure, but this usually happens when the gateway can’t reach the same endpoint your local machine can, even if it works fine on your side, often it’s a network or DNS issue rather than the query itself. I’d check if the gateway machine can resolve and access the TDS endpoint, maybe try connecting from that server directly, also verify firewall rules, ports, and that the connection is using the right auth method in the service, sometimes switching from named pipes to TCP/IP or using the full server URL helps. If it’s Dataverse, also double check that TDS is enabled and allowed for external connections, and that the gateway is updated.

If you calculate the maximum value in the "Value" column, you don't need "CALCULATE".

Total Entitlement = MAX('Entitlement-KA&EM 2026'[Value])

Is it correct to calculate the maximum value for the "Value" column?

I am trying to calculate starting and ending headcount per month using a Date table.
My HC table contains employee joining dates (and optionally leaving dates). The challenge is to calculate cumulative headcount while ensuring slicers (like Department, Location) still work.
Currently, using ALL() breaks slicers.

HC Table

EmployeeID

DOJ (Date of Joining)

LWD (optional)

Date Table

Date

Month

Year

Relationship

DateTable[Date] → HC[DOJ] (Active)

What I Want / Expected Result -

For each month:
Starting HC = Employees active at beginning of month
Ending HC = Employees active at end of month
Should respond to slicers like Department, Location

SQL TDS Endpoint Connector

Hi,

I'm attempting to connect to a TDS Endpoint (Dataverse) read only sql database. I've done my query and put it into power bi.

This refreshes fine locally but gives me below when I'm attempting to refresh on the gateway/service.

Microsoft SQL: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server

How could it be the correct server locally and not on the service?

But how does this work when you're using a semantic model in PBIRB?

It's therefore using using dax and the query designer. I understand what you're saying but how can I reference the user id parameter in the dax or query designer?

Also, how can you allow a manager hierarchy to see users data underneath?

I think I see the issue. When you publish a new version of the .pbix from Desktop on Day 2, that overwrites the entire semantic model including all partitions, the archive you built on Day 1 gets wiped. Publishing from Desktop always replaces everything.
To preserve archive partitions across days, you need to only trigger refreshes from the Service after the initial publish, never republish from Desktop again. The incremental refresh engine in the Service knows to leave archive partitions alone and only touch the incremental window ,but only if the model already exists in the Service and you're refreshing it in place.

Just out of curiousity, how would i extend this further for ESM Data Group, ESM Entity, and API URI?

if I added another field "Consumed API" where the drillthrough is based off the "Consumed API", but returned as the API URI filter? (Any "Consumed API" will exist in API URI)

For example "API URI" (API 1) consumes "Consumed API" (API 2),

by selecting "Consumed API" (API 2) in the decomposition tree to go to the drillthrough page

I would want to see the record for "API URI" (API 2) and not (API 1)

is there a method to achieve this?
