Has anyone out there been experiencing degraded performance around authorizing with SharePoint in the last 36 hours? We are in US West.
Starting 8 pm pacific 1/4/26, every model and dataflow that connects to a SharePoint file via Web connector or SharePoint connector started to fail with various errors all centered around unable to authorize. Occurs across multiple users and files. It works maybe 10% of the time, but has gotten worse.
Editing Credentials fails entirely, times out.
It works in Desktop fine, it works when creating a Dataflow ( before trying to refresh it which it then fails )
Hi @cassidy ,
If you receive any updates or inputs from the Microsoft side, please consider sharing them here, as they may be helpful to other community members as well.
Thank you for staying engaged with the community.

Yugandhar
@cassidy It looks like the situation is back to normal for us and the refreshes are going through. We didn't change anything on our side so it's likely a Microsoft issue that has been fixed. Is it also back to normal for you?
Yes same here - I'm asking the rep what changed, waiting on a response
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear things are back to normal on your side as well.
Since nothing was changed on your end, this does point to a Microsoft-side issue that’s likely been resolved. If your Microsoft rep shares any details on what changed, it would be great to pass that along here for others.
Appreciate you keeping the community updated, and please let us know if the issue comes back.
Regards,
Yugandhar.
I'm experiencing a similar issue with SharePoint and with the Web Connector to connect to Excel files stored in SharePoint. The OAuth2 is failing and editing the credentials in the service is very slow, laggy, and usually ends up with errors like these:
- Failed to update data source credentials: Failed to get OAuth resource, please make sure the OAuth is supported
- You need to use SSL (HTTPS) when you use OAuth 2.0 authentication.
Yep - that is it. I'm working with a MSFT rep, but they don't know what is happening yet.
I think there is an outage.
Hi @cassidy ,
Thank you for confirming that you’re already working with a Microsoft representative on this. Please keep us posted if you receive any updates, and let us know if you need any further assistance in the meantime.
It sounds like several users are experiencing the same issue, so any updates you can share here will be very helpful to others as well.

Yugandhar
Switching to Google Sheets also creates similar errors. Intermittent success using OAuth2.
Hi @cassidy ,
Thank you for sharing these details. I know how disruptive this must be with so many of your models relying on SharePoint connections.
Since you’re already engaged with Microsoft support, the best course of action is to continue following their investigation closely.
We really appreciate you staying connected with the community and keeping everyone updated along the way.
We are at 60 hours of degraded performance without resolution.
An attempt to authorize to sharepoint can succeed, fail, fail, fail, succeed, all within a matter of 2 minutes. It seems random whether or not things will work or not. Major impact to dozens of our models as connections to sharepoint are fundamental for our business.
